LUCKNOW 17th April – The 237th edition of Thursday Musings featured filmmaker Anurag Basu discussing emotional vulnerabilities and cinema. Held on April 17, 2025, the session included discussions on storytelling, mental health portrayal in films, and cinema’s therapeutic value.Participants explored cinema’s ability to capture the human mind. Anurag Basu shared his filmmaking journey and his battle with leukemia, offering insights into creating mental health awareness content. The session also covered storytelling, emphasizing empathy, Bollywood’s evolving mental health portrayal, and the influence of childhood experiences and genetics on well-being.Future discussions included Anurag Basu speaking at the Indian Psychiatric Society conference to be held in Delhi and potential film projects on suicide prevention and substance abuse awareness.Thursday Musings, initiated on July 23, 2020, is a World Record Holding webinar series for mental health professionals, with 84,120 participants across 237 editions.
